Knowledge Knit is a series of ten integrated semester books for classes 1 to 5, comprising two books for each class, one for each semester. Conforming to the National Curriculum Framework for School Education, 2005, and the NCERT objectives, Knowledge Knit presents the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Environmental Science, Science, and Social Studies in a child – friendly, interactive, and vibrant manner sustaining the interest of the learners at each level. The series has been designed to achieve holistic development of the learner with focus on oral – aural, print, and electronic channels of communication.
ELT sharpens language skills, such as listening, speaking, reading, writing, and grammar, and ensures language acquisition and proficiency. Sections like Value pick, HOTS, and Life skills help learners develop and widen their thinking processes shaping them as better individuals.
Mathematical concepts are learned through innovative techniques while engaging the learners in a stimulating environment of games and activities.
Science aims to develop in the learners the scientific skills ranging from observation, data collection, and investigation to drawing inferences. It seeks to sensitize learners to the need of a healthy ecological balance and conservation.
Social Studies revolves around ideas and themes drawn from History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, and Sociology. It develops the social, cultural, and analytical skills in learners.
EVS, in Books 1 and 2, seeks to create a capacity to identify and comprehend relationships between the natural, social, scientific, and cultural environments. It also aims towards a concerted effort to ensure a smooth transition to the Science and Social Studies courses in classes 3 to 5.
Specific icons alongside exercises and assignments indicate skills for assessment through continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE).
